SMC Banner Revelation 2015

The yellow balloons released one by one by the sports captains of Eusoff drew the audience's eyes to the sky. Against the backdrop of the half-moon night, the banner unfurls and the crowd exclaims. One dream. One team. One Eusoff. One concerted effort to strive for the title of Inter-Hall Games (IHG) champions come January. The eagle's fierce gaze reflects our keen desire to train and fight. Wings enfolding the trophy emblematic of our goal for nothing less than best. Just 75 days left before we show our might. Before every drop of sweat and blood shed during training becomes worthwhile, before we showcase our undying thirst for victory on the battlefield come January 2016.

The highly anticipated banner revelation was held at the grass patch below the bridge at E1. To kick off the event, Eusoff Hall Master, Dr. Goh Beng Lan, spurred the Eusoffians present towards the glory of victory while Dr. Arafat roused our fighting spirits by questioning our determination to reclaim the IHG championship title, one that belonged to Eusoff for 7 consecutive years since 2006, before losing it for the past 2 seasons. Despite the lacklustre response (notwithstanding Arun's roar of affirmation), the fire blazing in the eyes of all spoke of an unmatched resolve.

As the representative of each of the 29 sports to be competed in the upcoming annual IHG’15/16, the respective sports captains of Eusoff subsequently took part in the ritualistic act of imprinting their paint-reddened palms onto the first 'O' of the ONE EUSOFF banner. After which, the entire Eusoff tribe were encouraged to make their way to the rag painting area to similarly leave their individual handprints on the banner. This nature of artistic creation which included each individual's unique input would encompass everyone's dreams, each sporting team and resonate in the culmination of the ONE EUSOFF. It also symbolises how each and every Eusoffian is to give their all in striving for the IHG glory, be it as sportsman or simply as a true Eusoff supporter.

Other than the enthusiastic participation in the artistic creation, the appearance of chocolate eclairs and cream puffs prepared by SMC at the end of the banner revelation certainly intensified the already boisterous mood. It was observed how the trays of mouth-watering pastries taken out by Shiah Leei were swooped upon and devoured in no time. No doubt we shall witness such swiftness and ferocity unleashed on our rival halls during the upcoming IHG too.
